Strengths:

Dieng just turned 19 so he is a very young prospect and he projects to be a good defender and has the ability to guard positions 1-4. He is able to block shots at a high level due to his 7’0″ wingspan. Even though he only averaged 1.1 assists per game, he can create offense for others with his playmaking ability. He can also excel in the pick-and-roll game either finishing or assisting on a made basket. Toward the end of the season he showed big flashes of being able to create his own shot. His stats are not ideal, but he showed tremendous improvement in the second half of his season. Dieng only averaged 20 minutes per game so it’s not like he was on the court as much as most of the other prospects in the NBA Draft.

Weaknesses:

Dieng needs to improve his strength as he will be most likely playing the forward position and matching up with some strong players. Simply getting into the weight room with whichever organization drafts him will take care of a lot of that. His free throw percentage needs to improve from the 67 percent he shot in the NBL. He also just needs to work on remaining consistent on the offensive end by letting the game come to him instead of forcing up a bad shot.
