Fit with the Hornets and Overall Assessment:

It’s safe to say that Dieng would be a developmental piece early on if he was drafted by the Hornets, especially considering the roster depth of the team currently. It’s doubtful that he would even see the rotation his entire first season unless certain injuries occur. Eventually, when given the chance, he would surely fit in with LaMelo Ball and the rest of the young Hornets. With some work within the organization and if he develops like scouts think he can, Dieng could become a great player in the NBA.

Projection:

Dieng has been projected to go in the late lottery or late first round. It seems as though his stock is rising and could even be picked up before then. Drafting Dieng at either 13 or 15 could seem like a reach for some Hornets fans, but I think the organization will take a look at him to say the least.
