Which free agent guards could the Charlotte Hornets target in free agency?

The Charlotte Hornets have plenty of depth on their roster. The only position that they are lacking depth in is the point guard position. That should be addressed in free agency, and the organization may be able to do that without spending a large amount of money.

The obvious guards on the team are LaMelo Ball and Terry Rozier. Ball and Rozier were both in the starting lineup the last few seasons, so if history repeats itself the team will be looking for a backup at the point guard position. After Ball and Rozier, there is not a true point guard on the roster. Isaiah Thomas is an unrestricted free agent and provided a needed veteran presence last season. With that said, the team should set their sights higher with a younger player who is still developing. Of the four free agents, there are two point guards and two combo guards.

When it comes to cap space, the Hornets do not have much. With the limited cap space the team has, the four players on this list are not necessarily starting caliber players. Taking this into consideration, they each would improve the team once they see the floor.
