Kai Jones only played in 21 games at the NBA level last season; however, he had a very successful G-League campaign with the Greensboro Swarm. Jones still needs more development before contributing at the next level, but his production in the G-League was very promising. Jones was incredibly efficient around the basket, as he ranked in the 98th percentile in finishing around the rim and in the 92nd percentile in overall offense this past season, according to Synergy Sports. However, Jones still struggled with his jump shot, only finishing in the 25th percentile on jump shots and shooting 29.1 percent in total.

Defense, perimeter shooting, and feel for the game will be the areas of emphasis for Jones in the Summer League. If he wants to contribute at the NBA level this upcoming season, Jones must be able to contribute defensively. He has all the athletic tools and with the tutelage from Clifford, he should grow in that area of his game. Jones may also have to improve his perimeter skillset to slide to the power forward position with the addition of Mark Williams. Becoming a passable three-point shooter and an average ball-handler will help him become more palatable at the power forward position.
