Four free agent point guards the Hornets could sign
Isaiah Thomas
Isaiah Thomas has had a career lasting over a decade long career with some highs and lows. It seems that the past few years he’s been fighting to stay in the league and get the respect he deserves.
At one point in his career, he averaged 28.9 points per game for the Boston Celtics. He has gone through a lot of adversity after playing for ten different teams in the NBA, but Thomas is hoping to get picked up by another squad to continue his career.
Followers of the Hornets know that Thomas was picked up toward the end of last season by the Hornets in hopes to help push the team into the playoffs. In his 17 games with the Hornets, Thomas averaged 8.3 points per game with 1.4 assists per game and 1.2 rebounds per game. He shot 43.3 percent from the field and shot a good three-point percentage at 39.7.
Thomas was a tremendous veteran presence for the young guys and seemed to fit in with the team very well. He was well respected amongst the players and coaches within the organization and was only spoken highly of during his time in Charlotte. If the Hornets were to reach out to Thomas about a return in 2022-2023, fans would have an idea of what to expect. With an entire offseason with the team, fans should expect to see improvements in his stats if he were to be the role of backup point guard.
