Top 5 Shooting Guards in Charlotte Hornets history
Kendall Gill (1990-1993,1995)
Selected 5th overall by the Hornets in the 1990 NBA draft, Kendall Gill had a strong rookie campaign that resulted in him being named to the NBA All-Rookie First Team.
Gill’s second year was even better, as he increased his scoring average to 20.5 points per game, the second highest in Hornets history to that point. While his scoring took a dip in his third year as he missed 13 games, Gill still managed to be Charlotte’s third-leading scorer as the Hornets made their first playoff appearance in team history.
However, Gill would be traded to the Seattle SuperSonics during the ensuing offseason. Gill would be reacquired by Charlotte during the 1995 offseason but was again traded after just 36 games to the New Jersey Nets.
Factoring in both stints with the team as well as the postseason, Gill averaged 15.7 points, 4.5 rebounds and 4.2 assists in 275 games for the Hornets in his career.
