With a new NBA season comes new NBA jerseys, and the Charlotte Hornets are no exception. In fact, the Hornets have been known as one of the better-outfitted teams in the association ever since they made the moved away from their “Bobcats” branding before the 2014-15 season.
With the recent release of NBA 2K23, many of this season’s “Statement Edition” jerseys have been revealed via the game files.

HQ versions of new Statement Editions have been found in the 2K23 Files.
What are your thoughts on these designs? pic.twitter.com/Rg3kROtyeE
The Statement Edition jerseys are equivalent to an alternative jersey, complimenting each team’s primary jersey sets. These include the “Association Edition” jerseys, which are primarily white and are typically worn in home games, and the “Icon Edition” jerseys, which for Charlotte are teal with white pinstripes and are typically worn in away games.
If the leaked jersey does indeed see the floor this season, it would be a welcome change for Hornets fans from the team’s most recent Statement Edition uniform.

FWIW I agree - CLT > CHA pic.twitter.com/FyQMO9yuft
Featuring the “CHA” wordmark on the chest, many fans felt that the jerseys should instead read “CLT”, the airport code for Charlotte Douglas International Airport and a well-known abbreviation for the city of Charlotte. However, such a change would require coordination with the NBA, as the Hornets’ official abbreviation is “CHA“.
With several players having changed numbers this offseason, most notably LaMelo Ball changing from the No. 2 jersey to the No. 1 jersey, fans will want to keep an eye out for the official release of the Statement Edition jersey in order to have the most updated look.
