The Charlotte Hornets made headlines on Thursday afternoon with the release of their new Statement Edition jerseys.

To the delight of many Hornets fans, the new purple threads will be replacing the previous Statement Edition uniforms that featured the ā€œCHAā€ wordmark across the chest.

Charlotte will go with the new look for each of their Saturday home contests this season as well as on Sunday, April 2nd in the final Sunday home game of the 2022-23 schedule. The jerseys will also be used for seven select road contests, for a total of 16 appearances.

Also worth noting is the fact that these jerseys will include a No. 6 patch on the right shoulder to honor the late Bill Russell, a feature that will be seen on all NBA jerseys this season.

As is the case with all of Charlotteā€™s jerseys, the right chest will contain the Nike ā€œJumpmanā€ logo while the left chest will contain the LendingTree logo. LendingTree, which is headquartered in Charlotte, now enters its sixth season as the Hornetsā€™ official jersey patch sponsor.

The Hornetsā€™ secondary logo will be shown on either side of the shorts, while the sides feature a cell pattern that runs onto the shorts in a design meant to emulate a hornetā€™s stinger.

The Hornets also revealed their first ever Statement Edition court on Thursday afternoon.

With heavy emphasis on the purple color scheme, the court design features the alternate ā€œsilhouetteā€ logo at center court, marking the first time that this logo has been used as the center court logo.

Fans in Charlotte will have the chance to see the new jerseys and court design on the following home dates:

October 29th vs. Golden State Warriors

November 5th vs. Brooklyn Nets

December 3rd vs. Milwaukee Bucks
