The dark cloud that has hung over the Charlotte Hornets this offseason will be sticking around for a while longer.

This, after the latest chapter of the ongoing Miles Bridges saga unfolded inside a Los Angeles County courtroom on Friday afternoon.

After Bridges’ preliminary hearing on September 7th had been continued until September 16th, the hope was that enough evidence had been gathered to make a decision on whether to proceed to a trial.

Instead, the case was again continued, this time until September 29th.

NBA training camps are scheduled to begin on September 27th. The Hornets will begin their preseason slate on October 2nd and will begin their regular season campaign on October 19th.

The case is now guaranteed to extend beyond the beginning of training camp and will almost certainly extend beyond the beginning of the preseason.
