Russell Westbrook

It seems almost surprising that the Charlotte Hornets have not acquired Russell Westbrook yet. With Westbrook’s close connection with Michael Jordan and the fact that he is a Jordan Brand athlete, the idea of Westbrook in Charlotte is not outrageous. Jordan went as far as to compare Westbrook to himself and even served as the presenter when Westbrook was inducted into the Oklahoma Hall of Fame in 2016.

Westbrook is on a bad contract with the Los Angeles Lakers. His contract is perhaps the worst contract in the NBA. Unless the Lakers trade draft picks and take on a few of the Charlotte Hornets’ bad contracts, a Westbrook deal would not happen. However, the idea that the Charlotte Hornets would give Westbrook a one-year deal to play is not out of the question.
