The Charlotte Hornets have let Miles Bridges‘ $7.9 million qualifying offer expire, according to Shams Charania of The Athletic.

The Charlotte Hornets faced the NBA deadline of Saturday, October 1st to agree to sign Bridges to the qualifying offer or else the qualifying offer became void.

While it was always unlikely that Bridges would return the the Hornets on the qualifying offer, that option is now officially gone.

With Bridges’ court hearing in the aftermath of his arrest on felony domestic violence charges having recently been continued for a fourth time, there appears to be no resolution immenent on this ongoing saga.

Bridges is scheduled to appear in court in Los Angeles County, California on Friday, October 7th.
