Meanwhile, Keldon Johnson had the second-highest scoring performance of his career the last time these teams squared off. In that game, Johnson had 33 points and 8 rebounds on 58.33% shooting.

Charlotte Hornets at San Antonio Spurs: Prediction

The Spurs have been excellent in season openers under Popovich and are always a sure bet to be well-coached. However, they also have the lowest projected win total of any team (22.5) according to Vegas Insider. They traded away their best player during the offseason and the writing may be on the wall that the end of Popovich’s tenure is drawing near.

Meanwhile, the Hornets had a tumultuous offseason to say the least. They will enter this contest without their best player and are dealing with yet another off-court legal incident.

That said, the Hornets will be a better team than the Spurs this year, and that will begin with a road victory tonight.
