P.J. Washington is one of the most underappreciated Charlotte Hornets players.

P.J. Washington is entering his fourth season in the NBA and has been one of the most reliable players for the Charlotte Hornets since joining the team. Whether as a starter or as a bench player, he has shown that he can contribute.

Washington fits the prototype of the modern NBA’s stretch four. He can stretch the floor with his three-point shooting, score around the basket with his size, and guard any position on defense. In many ways he is the ultimate role player and would be a fit on any team.

Washington now has an opportunity to secure a lucrative contract as he is playing this year on the final season of his rookie deal.

Both Martin and Washington came to Charlotte in the 2019 NBA draft and both have become criticial pieces of the Hornets’ roster. While they may not be the most well-known or the flashiest players, they are a crucial part of Charlotte’s core.
