James Bouknight has been the biggest letdown for the Charlotte Hornets

James Bouknight did not receive meaningful minutes in his rookie season in 2021-22. Steve Clifford had given Bouknight somewhat consistent minutes for the first 19 games of the season, but he has since fallen out of the rotation due to his underwhelming play.

Bouknight is averaging 5.3 points per game with 2.4 rebounds per game and just 1.4 assists per game.

Bouknight is struggling with his efficiency so far in 2022, shooting 33.6% from the field and just 23.7% from three-point range. The numbers do not get any better from the free throw line either, as he is currently shooting 62.5% from the charity stripe.

Bouknight is averaging 17.2 minutes per game, so he has received some decent minutes to ensure he has a chance to get going.

It is still early in the season and there is plenty of time for Bouknight to turn his season around. He is incredibly athletic and is too good of a prospect to give up on him this early.

With that being said, it may take further injury issues for Bouknight to begin receiving more minutes.
