James Bouknight
Look, Bouknight is one of the more polarizing players in #HornetsHive. The athletic 6’5 guard has shown flashes of the scoring punch that made him a lottery pick in 2021. He recently scored 44 points in a recent game for the Greensboro Swarm, making 11 three-pointers in the process. He’s had some success scoring the NBA as well, he’s put up double-digit points in four games this season.
Bouknight’s season started roughly when he was arrested. Bouknight also isn’t a plus defender, making it more difficult to crack a Clifford lineup. Given that Ball was injured several weeks ago and Bouknight still hasn’t played, it may be obvious what Clifford thinks of Bouknight’s future with the team.
But for a team looking for answers (and a first-round player still on his rookie deal), it makes sense to give him playing time to see if there may be a badly needed scorer/shooter somewhere on the roster.
