3. Charlotte Hornets at San Antonio Spurs December 15, 2021

Gordon Hayward’s dazzling 41-point performance was the second-highest point total in his career. The December night saw Hayward in his bag early, scoring 14 points in the first quarter to give the Hornets 46 points.

The performance was as dynamic as it was important, it helped keep the Hornets above .500 (they were 15-14 entering the evening) and helped power them to only their third win in nine games. The team had recently lost Ball to injury and needed a player to step up. Hayward followed his 14-point first quarter with a 21-point third quarter. A feat made more impressive because it included only one made three-pointer.
