Scoring

Some of the shortcomings in putting the ball in the basket can be attributed to the lack of three-point shooting, but not all of it. The New York Knicks are 5th in offensive efficiency, but in the bottom third in 3-point percentage. The Hornets must find a way to score more efficiently even without knocking down shots from long range.

Health will help some of their shortcomings. Being without one of the team’s best scorers and its best shot-creator for others in Ball will always hurt an offense. But perhaps that is part of the issue, that the offense is so heavily dependent on one person.

What would truly help is another player that could create for themselves. Someone that doesn’t need Ball to feed him to be effective. This should be the main characteristic of whomever the team takes in the upcoming NBA draft.
