Svi Mykhailiuk was a part of the trade that sent Jalen McDaniels to the Philadelphia 76ers. Though he’s only 25, Mykhailiuk has bounced around the league and spent time in the G league. Given a real opportunity to play meaningful minutes with the Hornets, Mykhailiuk posted a career-high in points (26) and assists (8). In fact, in the eight games he started for the Hornets, he averaged an impressive 17.3 points, 4.3 rebounds, and 5.3 assists on an efficient 44.4% from the field and 38.3% from behind the arc. Mykhailiuk will be an unrestricted free agent, but the Hornets should bring him back. It’s important not to overvalue his contributions late in the season, but he did the most he could with the opportunity given. And with his shooting prowess and underrated passing ability, he could be a key reserve player for a team looking to add wing depth.
