The overall feeling about the Charlotte Hornets this season is that they should improve. With last year being Murphy’s Law playing out in real-time, if there is a team destined to find themselves on the opposite end of the bad luck spectrum, it is Charlotte. The team is healthy, they have youthful pieces to build around, and there is one thing that every team has going into a season. Hope.

But what if things go wrong again? What if a few players go down with an injury again? What if their collective three-point shooting does not improve? That would put the Hornets in a position that nobody would want to be in. That would be the position of having to trade away players, waving the white flag on the season.

While this would be far from ideal for all involved, it must be accepted as a possible reality. Until the Hornets can prove that they can stay healthy and that the pieces surrounding LaMelo Ball can be quality contributors, this is something that must be taken into consideration. But who could the Hornets end up moving by the NBA trade deadline should things go by the wayside in Charlotte?
