When it comes to who the Charlotte Hornets may trade this season, two players come to mind. But which player, in particular, was recently mentioned as the most likely trade candidate in an article on Sir Charles in Charge? Author Andy Quach has one player in particular on his mind on who the Hornets are likely to trade. Terry Rozier

It is an interesting choice by Quach as the expiring veteran contract of Gordon Hayward was right there for the taking, but instead, it is Rozier being mentioned for Charlotte.

"Terry Rozier is another valuable NBA veteran on a rebuilding team. With Nick Smith Jr. and James Bouknight looking to earn their keep in the league next season, it’ll only be a matter of time before the Charlotte Hornets front office decides that they need their young guards to get more opportunities so that they can properly evaluate their talent. For that to happen, Terry Rozier will need to be moved in return for more future assets to aid in the Hornets’ rebuild. His shot creation should be enticing for any playoff team looking to add more offensive juice to their roster."

A more than solid point is made regarding the need to find out more about the duo of young guards in James Bouknight and Nick Smith Jr. Clearing playing time by moving Rozier to distribute minutes to Bouknight and Smith Jr. would be beneficial to the organization. However, it just seems that Hayward and his expiring deal is more likely at this time.

Charlotte intends on being a better team this season, and that should include keeping Rozier on their roster. While the authenticity of their attempts to at least make the Play-In Tournament can be questioned, the odd man out now and as long as he is on the roster is still Hayward. The Hornets could ultimately end up dealing both players and fully embrace the youth movement, a path which may be ideal for their long-term goals, but if one player and one player only is going to be selected as the most likely trade candidate, it is Hayward at this moment in time.
