It should come as no surprise that Brandon Miller takes the small forward position within the Hornets’ dream lineup five years from now. After being taken second overall, there’s is a fair level of expectations on Miller’s shoulders.

Millers’ performances during Las Vegas Summer League were encouraging. Yet, we should be under no illusion that the next few years will come with inevitable ups and downs. Rookies need time to develop, irrespective of how frustrating that can be for all involved. Still, five years from now, if all goes well, Miller should have a couple of All-Star appearances to his name and be entering the first year of a Rookie Max Extension.

The Eastern Conference is littered with high-level wings, so Miller will get the opportunity to test his abilities against some of the best. It won’t be pretty at first, but iron sharpens iron, and by all accounts, Miller is already in the gym putting in work.

With LaMelo and Miller already on the roster, Charlotte has two talents that can potentially alter the trajectory of the franchise if they put in the work and figure out how to play with and off of each other.
