There is a situation involving a team in the Eastern Conference that could have a ripple effect across the NBA. That team would be the Philadelphia 76ers. The expectation is that the 76ers will move James Harden at some point in the future, and once that happens, they will need someone to insert into their roster makeup, preferably an All-Star caliber guard, according to reports. While the Hornets do not currently have an All-Star guard that could be moved at this moment in time, that did not stop Sir Charles in Charge’s Michael Saenz from making a connection between Charlotte and Philadelphia.

The player who has been connected to Philadelphia following a potential trade of Harden is eight-year veteran Terry Rozier. It is the high amount of uncertainty surrounding the Hornets presently, and a poor enough start could put them in a position where they are ready to wheel and deal early on in the year. Add in the fact that there are multiple veterans, the other being Gordon Hayward, that could be moved during the year, and they are an ideal trade partner for contending teams looking to bolster their roster and/or bench group.

"“The situation in Charlotte deserves to be kept an eye on. And that goes well beyond the Terry Rozier situation. On paper, it would make sense for the Hornets to at least explore the trade market surrounding Rozier. Even though he still has two years remaining on his contract, with a team option for a third, he could be viewed as somewhat of the odd man out heading into this season.”"

Rozier is someone who has playoff experience going back to his time with the Boston Celtics. This could come in handy for the 76ers as they look to make a much deeper playoff run than what they have been able to accomplish thus far.

Would the Hornets actually feel inclined to move Rozier this season? That’s a tough call. As mentioned in the above blurb, Rozier is under contract for two more years and could be a key veteran for what is a very young team in Charlotte. However, that should not be enough for the Hornets to not entertain any sort of trade offer for Rozier. They are more than likely a team that is a few years away from being a few years away. The reality is that there are certain players that any type of trade inquiry would be shot down immediately, and Rozier is not part of that group.
