4. Terry Rozier

If there is a contending team looking to acquire a player who will not become a free agent after the year is up, perhaps they may be interested in acquiring the services of Terry Rozier.

Rozier has two years remaining on his contract after 2023-24, with the second being partially guaranteed. The extra years on Rozier’s deal could be intriguing for a team looking to have a group of players together beyond just this season. Building chemistry over multiple years is vital to the success of a contending team, and the prospect of adding an accomplished and experienced player in Rozier would be a worthwhile consideration for teams needing a guard who are also looking to make a deep playoff run.

Like the possibility of moving Hayward, a potential trade of Rozier is focused on the franchise’s future. It is very unlikely that the Hornets are going to be in a position to contend for much of anything during the lifetime of Rozier’s deal. Because of that, Charlotte would be better off trading Rozier to allow other younger players who figure to be part of this team’s next competitive cycle an opportunity to see the court now and develop properly.
