5 Former Hornets the team can re-sign this summer

4. Svi Mykhailiuk
The Charlotte Hornets have a few needs they should be looking to address this offseason. The moves they made at the trade deadline turned out to be great, but there’s still more work to be done.
Added Seth Curry ended up being a solid move, and he’s under contract for next year as well, but a team can never have enough three-point shooting on its roster.
Svi Mykhaliuk enjoyed one of the best stints of his career with the Hornets at the tail-end of the 2022-23 season, so rekindling that magic could make some sense for both sides.
He spent this past year sitting at the end of the Boston Celtics’ bench, and he could end up getting a ring for that role. But if he wants to play, Boston probably isn’t the place for him.
Mykhailiuk’s three-point shooting is undeniable. When he’s locked in, he can be deadly from behind the arc. But he needs regular minutes in order to consistently generate that rhythm.
In addition, he’s a sneakily solid playmaker, capable of creating for himself and others off the dribble. He may not play that role too much in Charlotte, but at 26 years old, he’d still be a nice piece to have on the roster.
Plus, he just spent a year playing under newly-minted Hornets head coach Charles Lee in Boston.
