On Monday morning, ESPN’s Adrian Wojnarowski reported the Charlotte Hornets completed another new edition to their restructured organization. Under the leadership of co-owners Rick Schnall and Gabe Plotkin, Charlotte has added a key hire on the business side.

Wojnarowski said the Hornets are hiring Shelly Cayette-Weston as their new President of Business Operations. Before joining Charlotte, Cayette-Weston previously worked for 12 years with the Cleveland Cavaliers as a top business executive.

For the Hornets, it’s been a very busy past week putting together more key hires in place.

Not only is Cayette-Weston running the business operations in Charlotte, but the Hornets finally have their new head coach with Boston Celtics lead assistant Charles Lee. And shortly after Lee was officially hired, he brought aboard his top assistant in Lamar Skeeter from the Utah Jazz.

When Schnall and Plotkin were officially introduced in Charlotte as new owners, they mentioned how they wanted to turn the Hornets into one of the NBA’s most premier organizations. So far, those two are definitely holding up their end of the bargain.

Stay tuned to Swarm & Sting as the Hornets continue forward for one of their most important offseason periods in recent memory, which will include an exclusive interview with Schnall and Plotkin this month.
