Four of the five spots in the Charlotte Hornets’ starting lineup should be set. LaMelo Ball, Brandon Miller, and Mark Williams are all starters, and the sixth pick in the 2024 NBA Draft has a chance to step in as a starter, too.

But after that, there is some room for discussion. Charlotte could bring back Miles Bridges, but letting him walk is what’s best for the overall direction of the franchise. Grant Williams could also start, but he played well as a bench piece this past season.

With that in mind, it could be in the Hornets’ best interest to bring in a veteran power forward. Even if they don’t end up starting, they could be a valuable piece of the rotation, providing insight and a great presence on the floor.

Charlotte won’t have much cap space, but they’ll have their MLE to work with. Here are five veteran power forwards Charlotte should target in free agency.

1. Tobias Harris

After an ugly stint with the Philadelphia 76ers, Tobias Harris’ value is at an all-time low. That said, he’s still a decent player and could help a team looking to improve.

There has been a ton of smoke around the Detroit Pistons offering him a contract, but the Charlotte Hornets should consider getting in on the action, too.

He’s not incredible in any specific area, but his shooting is passable, his defense is passable, and he would make a decent third scoring option on a team hoping to make the Play-In Tournament.

If they could draw him in with their MLE, adding Harris to the bunch would be a good idea for the Hornets.
