4. Caleb Martin

Caleb Martin could very well be considered a small forward, but he’s played some power forward for the Miami Heat over the course of the past few seasons.

Right now, Martin is most well-known for his incredible Eastern Conference finals series against the Boston Celtics that lifted the Heat to the NBA Finals in the 2023 playoffs.

But before that, and before he joined the Heat on a two-way contract, Martin was on the Charlotte Hornets with his brother, Cody Martin, who is still with the team to this day.

Heading into the summer, Martin has a player option, which he will probably end up declining. If and when he does, the Hornets should definitely try to bring him back to Charlotte.

Martin has emerged as a great 3-and-D player during his time with the Heat, and that’s exactly what the Hornets should want on their roster next to LaMelo Ball and Brandon Miller.

He’s a bit undersized for the four spot, but Miller is a big guy, and Mark Williams’ giant stature would help make up for that fact, too. And at 28 years old and with his playoff experience, Martin is already a veteran.

Whether or not Martin would be interested in a return to Charlotte is another question, but if there’s any semblance of intrigue there, the Hornets should throw him an offer.
