Are Giannis and LaMelo Ball playing tonight? Hornets Bucks injury report 2/29
By Ben Handler
The Charlotte Hornets are coming off one of their worst losses of the season, and one of the worst offensive performances we’ve seen by any NBA team this season. They lost to the Bucks 123-85, and put up just a measly 26 points in the first half - the lowest by any team this season for a single half.
The good news is that the Hornets don’t have to wait very long to exact their revenge as they are back in action against the Bucks again Thursday night, this time back home in Charlotte at Spectrum Center.
Coming into this game, the Hornets hold a 15-43 record, good for 13th in the Eastern Conference, while the Bucks are now 38-21, just a half-game back of the second-place Cleveland Cavaliers.
Yet again, these teams both have loaded injury reports, chock full of star power. They don’t look too dissimilar from Tuesday night’s matchup either.
Hornets injury report
Stop me if you’ve heard this one before, but the Hornets are listing LaMelo Ball (ankle) and Mark Williams (back) as ‘Out’. At this point, I’m not even really sure what to say, as there’s no update and we’ll all just have to wait.
LaMelo has been warming up on the court prior to every game, and looking good, but he remains without any timetable to return to action. After this game, the Hornets only have 23 remaining, so it’s looking like Ball will appear in fewer than half the games this season.
Bucks injury report
Khris Middleton (ankle) is ‘Out’ again for the Bucks, and the team announced he won’t be joining the team for their current road trip. Andre Jackson Jr. is also listed as ‘Questionable’ with an illness.
Giannis Antetokounmpo (knee) and MarJon Beauchamp (illness) are both listed as ‘Probable’ and expected to be in action. Giannis had the same designation on Tuesday night and played through the injury.
The Bucks are currently listed as 11.5-point favorites.
