Josh Green - Guard, Dallas Mavericks (Absolute no-brainer)

Green is a player who has been mentioned as a guy the Hornets are specifically targeting, and he makes sense because the Mavs have been rumored to have interest in P.J. Washington and Miles Bridges.

Green would be a perfect addition to the Hornets' rebuild and would fit seamlessly with the young core. He’s a 6’5” shooting guard who plays well on both sides of the ball. He could slot in with some good (and much-needed) perimeter defense and can fill it up offensively when given the chance.

He’s already proven to be a productive role player on a winning team and is shooting over 40% from three for the second year in a row. At just 23 years old, Green enters year one of a three-year $41 million contract next year. A very reasonable number that should age very well.

Green would be an ideal addition for the Hornets, and someone I can envision slotting in between LaMelo Ball and Brandon Miller for years to come. He’s exactly the kind of player you’d want alongside those two, and the fact that he fits their timeline and is signed for several more years at a reasonable cost is just a great bonus.

His numbers don’t jump off the page, but he’s earned a larger role, and we’ve seen plenty of players expand their game once leaving the high-usage Luka Doncic. Green should be the top priority for Charlotte at the deadline if he’s available.
