It’s always fun when the Hornets take on the Warriors and Stephen Curry gets to face off against his hometown team, and the one his father works for. This time around, the matchup will have even more juice than usual as Steph’s brother Seth is now a member of the Hornets.

Steph and Seth grew up in Charlotte, watching their father Dell play for the Hornets and frequently joining the team on the court for warmups. Fast forward 20+ years and the brothers both play in the NBA while Dell is the color commentator for the Hornets.

Seth and Steph have obviously faced off many times during their NBA careers, but this will be the first time since Seth joined the Hornets via trade two weeks ago.

Both teams enter Friday night’s game on a back-to-back, having played Thursday night as well. But since everyone is coming off a nice week off for the all-star break, there should be no concerns about load management even for the veteran brothers.

The Warriors enter the game coming off a big win Thursday night over the Lakers. They’ve been one of the hottest teams in the league lately, as they’ve now won nine of their last eleven and have crawled their way back into the playoff picture in the West.

Meanwhile, the Hornets enter the game as one of the hottest teams in the East, as they kept their winning streak alive in Utah Thursday night. The team has now won four straight games and is yet to lose with their trade deadline acquisitions.

These two teams will face off once more this season as the Warriors come to Charlotte to play the Hornets in Spectrum Center on March 29th. It will be great to see all three Currys on the floor in Charlotte once again, a reunion of sorts.

Hopefully, Steph sees how much fun his family members are having and decides it’s time to go back to his roots and return home to Charlotte. Perhaps it’s wishful thinking to posit that Steph Curry will request a trade to the Hornets anytime soon. But with his brother in the fold, it’s at least a little more likely than it was a few weeks ago.
