The Charlotte Hornets are coming off of a win against the Dallas Mavericks and look to beat another Texas team in the San Antonio Spurs. The Hornets have won their last two games and will look to improve their record to .500 with a win against the Spurs. The Hornets are (2-3) on the season after losing their first three games and winning their last two.
They have had a difficult start to the season as five of their first six opponents were in the playoffs last season, including San Antonio. The Hornets have been in superb form for the past two games and have shot lights out in both.
This will be a whole different test for Charlotte than the rest of the their season has been so far. San Antonio is seen as a contender for a title this season and one of the best teams in the Western Conference. Even though these two teams aren’t in the same conference it will be a good test for Charlotte against one of the West’s elite teams.

The Spurs possibly made the off-season signing of the year when they inked LaMarcus Aldridge to a max contract and he has averaged 14.8 points per game and 10.0 rebounds per game over the first five games of the year for his new team.
The Charlotte Hornets have many new additions for this season as you very well know and those players will look to help the Hornets win this game as they have played a big part in all of their games this season. Players like Nicolas Batum, Jeremy Lamb, and Jeremy Lin will look to impose their will on the battle tested Spurs in this one.
This will be a real test for the Hornets and will be a nice barometer to see where they are at with their team so far this year. They have competed with all of their opponents and gave them difficult match-ups so this one shouldn’t be any different. Expect a strong showing from the Charlotte Hornets.

Biggest Story:
The Charlotte Hornets have lost nine straight games to the San Antonio Spurs and they will look to break that streak of defeats in this one. The Spurs have a stranglehold over the Hornets because they have usually been one of the best teams in the league over the past decade but this year this Hornets are a different team that has a new style of play.
This is a new Charlotte team compared to the ones int he past few years and they will look to impose their will on the tyranny of the Spurs. San Antonio has completely dominated the match-up as of late but the Hornets will look to right the ship and change the tides as they look to steal momentum from the Spurs in the match-up between the two teams. We’ll see if the Charlotte Hornets can win and end the nine game losing streak to San Antonio.
Best Match-up to Watch:
Al Jefferson vs Tim Duncan
The “old-man” game should be in full effect tonight as the Big Fundamental takes on Big Al in this match-up. Their will be some great post play from both sides as Tim Duncan, LaMarcus Aldridge, and Al Jefferson are set to face-off. They are all seen as great offensive low post players, so this one should be fun to watch is you like a slower pace of play.
The Spurs are usually one of the slowest teams in the NBA due to their age and the Charlotte Hornets have been known as a slower team, until this season where the have picked up the pace. The Charlotte Hornets may try to run the Spurs out of the building and it could work in their favor.
Next: Al Jefferson Still Charlotte's Best offensive Option
Tim Duncan and Al Jefferson will be a fun match-up to watch. Both will go back and forth with their variety of post moves on the offensive end of the floor. Duncan has been one of the best post-up big men in the NBA for the past decade and Jefferson may be the best low post center in the game right now. This will be an interesting mat-up to say the least and whoever dominates could dictate the game.
