Welcome to Buzz City Beat, a daily roundup of the latest and greatest news and stories from around the web about the Charlotte Hornets.

NBA teams are getting their final pre-draft workouts in with prospects as the draft is right around the corner. In this edition of Buzz City Beat, we look at Donovan Mitchell/Terrance Ferguson heading the Charlotte Hornets‘ third pre-draft workout, Elijah Wilson to audition for the team and Antonius Cleveland will work out for them on June 13th.

"In preparation for the 2017 NBA Draft, the Charlotte Hornets host their third draft workout on June 12."

The Hornets will host six players during their third pre-draft workout. Donovan Mitchell (Louisville) and Terrance Ferguson (Australia) headline the group as they are both projected to be first-round picks this year. Even though he has plenty of upside, Ferguson would be a bit of a reach for Charlotte at No. 11. As for Mitchell, he is expected to go in the lottery and is a viable option for the team.

Bryce Alford (UCLA), Cameron Oliver (Nevada), Devin Robinson (Florida) and Tai Webster (Nebraska) are the other prospects who will take part in the workout. Oliver and Robinson are both expected to be late-second round picks while Alford and Webster are projected to be undrafted. "Flight 22 Hall of Famer @elijahwilson_22 will work out for the Charlotte Hornets next week."

Wilson is a 6’4 shooting guard out of Coastal Carolina University. During his senior year, he averaged 12.9 points per game as the Chanticleers had an 18-19 record in the 2016-17 season. Elijah isn’t projected to be drafted this year but that doesn’t mean he can’t make a name for himself during pre-draft workouts.

The Wilmington, North Carolina native could be signed as an undrafted free agent and play for Charlotte’s summer league team. I also think he would be a good option for the Greensboro Swarm next season.

The 6’6 shooting guard prospect averaged 16.6 points per game during his senior season at Southeast Missouri State. During the final week before the draft, Cleveland will workout for the Portland Trail Blazers on Monday, Charlotte on Tuesday, the Boston Celtics (for the second time) on Wednesday and the Utah Jazz on Saturday. Even though he is expected to go undrafted, Antonius could be picked up by the Hornets or any team as a free agent for the summer or for their D-League team.
