PG: Kemba Walker

Age: 27 (5/8/1990)
2016-2017 Shooting Stats: 44.4% FG/ 39.9% 3P/ 84.7% FT
2016-2017 Averages: 23.2 PPG, 5.5 APG, 3.9 RPG, 34.7 MPG
Accomplishments: 1x NBA All-Star (2017), 5x Player of the Week

After a career-year in 2015-16, Kemba took his game to a new level last season. He saw an uptick in his scoring and assists while becoming more efficient shooting the ball. All of that led to Walker making his first All-Star team. Now the question will be, can he continue his progression and take yet another step forward during the 2017 campaign?

It won’t be easy but based on what we’ve seen from the UCONN product the past couple of seasons, we can expect him to at least average 20 points per game. With the additions the team made, we can also expect Kemba to get more assists as he becomes more of a playmaker for his teammates. If he can do that, another All-Star appearance isn’t out of the question.

There is no doubt that Walker will be Charlotte’s starting point guard on opening night and he’s held that role since his second season (2012-13). After offseason knee surgery, the New York native will take the reigns once again as the Hornets’ captain and coach on the court. He is arguably the most important player for the team.
