Of the 21 games in the months of March and April, the Charlotte Hornets will only play nine of those games at home. For a team with playoff aspirations, going into the playoffs after a rugged last couple of months could prove troubling. They will have to find a way to win games away from home to close out the season if they want to have any hopes of making it to the postseason.

Last season, the Hornets had a rather favorable post-All-Star break schedule, ranking as one of the easiest remaining SOS (Strength of Schedule). This year will be far different for the Charlotte Hornets, who play the likes of the Houston Rockets, the Minnesota Timberwolves, the Boston Celtics, the Philidelphia 76ers, the Toronto Raptors, the San Antonio Spurs and many other teams that will look to make a late-season push for the playoffs.

Simply, if the Charlotte Hornets want to make the playoffs this season, they’ll have to prove in the regular season that they can hang with the NBA’s elite teams. It will be a true test for Charlotte and if they have a strong finish to the season, they will have earned their spot in the postseason.
