5. Throw it down, rook!

At one point, this sensational dunk by Miles Bridges was the dunk heard ’round the world, and for good reason.

Going way back to November 6th 2018, the Hornets picked up a home win against the Atlanta Hawks. The best memory from that game is this insane slam from Miles Bridges, which ended up being one of the top dunks of the entire season.

After missing the three-point attempt, Bridges followed it up with a massive one-handed hammer. He cocks the ball so far back and gets so high off the ground, it’s pretty insane how athletically gifted he is.

Everybody knew that he was athletic from his days in high school and at Michigan State, but this dunk opened some eyes, and maybe this was one reason why he was invited to the Dunk Contest. He may not have won, but he put himself on the map with some spectacular dunks during the season, led by this beauty.

This dunk had all Hornets fans talking for days, and it was really the first highlight play of his young career. I have a feeling we will be seeing more tomahawks like this in the future with Bridges and Malik Monk in town.
