When the NBA Draft finally rolls around, what would the Charlotte Hornets’ starting unit look like if they drafted James Wiseman?

Heading into this year’s NBA Draft should be a lot of fun for the Charlotte Hornets, as the team may have a chance at a high draft pick. As of now, the Hornets are projected to receive the eighth pick in the draft.

Currently, the NBA is looking for ways to assist with the offseason teams who will not be finishing their seasons in Orlando, Florida. The Hornets were one of eight teams that did not get invited to finish the season.

Even while the Hornets look like they will be projected to receive a mid-lottery pick, there’s always the chance the team could move up a few slots. However, the lottery pick the Hornets get this year could be included in the team’s starting lineup.

In April, Coach James Borrego told reporters that he wants the Hornets to address the team’s lack of rim-protection. Luckily for Borrego, there is a lottery center who could help him upgrade the frontcourt.

If the Hornets are lucky enough to get the opportunity to draft James Wiseman, then the team will have the center upgrade that they desperately need. The Hornets ranked 28th in defensive rebounds and 26th in blocks per game during the 2019-20 season.

The Hornets have primarily become a younger team, and Coach Borrego has continued to trust his young players. Wiseman would be a huge addition to the already stacked youth movement in Charlotte. In three games at Memphis, Wiseman averaged 19.7 points, 10.7 rebounds, and 3.0 blocks per game.

Without further ado, let’s take a look at what the Charlotte Hornets’ starting lineup could look like next season with James Wiseman.
