The following are critical contests to look out for this Charlotte Hornets season

So the most important matchup for the Hornets all season will be when the franchise faces off against the Atlanta Hawks. The Hawks have the opportunity to create a very competitive rivalry within the Southeast. The teams can faceoff and create an awesome southern basketball rivalry that the demographic would eat up.

The contest between these franchises is very critical to show how well the Hornets young roster is progressing compared to the Hawks young core. How well the teams compete will highlight how well each team is progressing within the league. Both franchises also happen to be competing for an Eastern Conference playoff spot so these matchups should show a lot about future postseason battles, hopefully, this season.

Another critical matchup for the Hornets this season will be the games between Charlotte and any division Southeast competitor. The team’s performance against any of these teams is extremely critical to the team’s success. The Hornets will face off against the Atlanta Hawks, Miami Heat, Orlando Magic, and the Washington Wizards four times a piece.

The Heat just made it to the NBA Finals and have a good chance to make it back, the Hawks reinforce their young talented roster, also the Orlando Magic have made it into the playoffs for the past few years, and the Wizards just traded for Russell Westbrook so the team may make a new push for relevance. With the Southeast division all picking up good offseason additions, the Hornets matchups against these teams are very critical for a measure of how good the franchise is performing.

These are the most important matchups for the Hornets and facing off against the teams will measure the team’s success.
