Early Mock Draft: Selecting all Charlotte Hornets’ picks
The Charlotte Hornets will head into this year’s offseason with a few position needs. While it may be early to look at the draft, it’s never too late to prepare to improve your team with younger talent.
Last season the Hornets got lucky and ended up with the third overall pick in the draft. Charlotte used the pick to select LaMelo Ball, who’s having arguably a Rookie of the Year caliber season for Hornets.

The Hornets have been hanging around the top-8 in the Eastern Conference so far this season. Based on how they’re doing now, the Hornets could end up in the late lottery or with a pick higher than 16. The Hornets have not held a pick that low in the first round since they advanced to the playoffs during the 2015-2016 season.
The Hornets have a history of missing on draft picks. For example, Malik Monk was selected over Donavan Mitchell during the 2017 NBA Draft.
