The Charlotte Hornets are entering an offseason where they have some big choices to make, and the biggest of which is whether or not to bring back Miles Bridges.
Bridges is set to be an unrestricted free agent, and the Hornets have reportedly let him know that they want to bring him back. (Considering all of his off-the-court issues, that’s a terrible plan.)
But regardless of Bridges’ baggage, the Hornets don’t have all the control over the situation, as the forward could simply leave in free agency for nothing.
Perhaps Bridges wants to be on a team where he can play in the postseason, or maybe he just wants his time in Charlotte to be over. Here are five teams Bridges could leave the Hornets for in free agency.
5 Teams that could steal Miles Bridges from Hornets in free agency
1. Detroit Pistons
There have been rumblings for a while now that the Detroit Pistons are interested in adding new talent to help them win, and Bridges has been brought up as a potential addition in the past.
Bridges is from Flint, Michigan, so he would be getting the chance to play for his hometown team should the Pistons give him an offer to take him away from the Hornets.
Next to Cade Cunningham, Jaden Ivey, and Jalen Duren, Bridges’ scoring and rim-running would be very useful skills, and he could help them develop Ron Holland, too.
Detroit should have the cap space to make a run at Bridges this summer, so if they can outbid the Hornets, they may be able to tempt the forward.
