Plenty of excitement is brewing at the Hive, as the Charlotte Hornets recently showed on social media their different players spending time on the court.

There have also been other riveting pieces of news outside the organization that could have an impact, albeit highly unlikely, on the Hornets.

For instance, LaMelo Ball's father, LaVar, managed to make his way back into fans' consciousness after reiterating his desire for his children. And Stephen Curry's recent pronouncement could eventually concern the franchise.

LaVar Ball's LA dreams for his kids

Ever since his sons picked up the sport, LaVar Ball has aspired to see Lonzo, LiAngelo, and LaMelo play together in the City of Angels. The Ball patriarch once again made it known that the dream is alive.

However, there is a slight change to his plans because of his disdain for the Los Angeles Lakers, whom he accused of messing up his eldest kid's career. So, LaVar Ball's goal is to bring all three of them to the LA Clippers, even going as far as to say that franchise majority owner Steve Ballmer is "my guy."

A significant hurdle to that scheme, though, is that LaMelo Ball seems content in Charlotte after signing a massive contract extension in 2023. The deal will put the young point guard in a Hornets uniform until the end of the 2028-29 campaign.

Arguably the best hoopster in the Ball family would probably be better off staying in Charlotte and away from his brothers. But if the 2022 All-Star continues to struggle with injuries, the Hornets might be tempted to ship him away.

Stephen Curry's post-playing career plan

Charlotte's prodigal son, Stephen Curry, is likely only several years away from hanging up his sneakers. There was some glimmer of hope that the 36-year-old superstar could look to suit up for his hometown team, especially after he removed the Golden State Warriors from his Instagram bio earlier this summer.

But Curry put an end to the speculations after agreeing to a handsome one-year extension with the Warriors, which would keep him in the Bay Area until 2027. He has also explained that the reason behind his suspicious social media move was to express his pride in being an Olympian.

Perhaps the Hornets could still one day be the two-time MVP's home — but not as a player.

In a recent interview with CNBC, he revealed his ambition of becoming an NBA owner sometime in the future, believing that his experience so far can help him run a championship organization.

Of course, Curry might not be talking about Charlotte, which is only a year into a new era under the ownership group of Rick Schnall and Gabe Plotkin. However, it wouldn't be surprising to eventually hear about the four-time champion wanting a piece of the Hornets pie.

The Hive might not be too excited about that idea, though, especially because the team is still in the recovery phase following Michael Jordan's stint as its majority owner.

Hornets make Kemba Walker's return official on social media

Some Hornets fans were thrilled to hear about Kemba Walker rejoining the team as part of new head coach Charles Lee's staff immediately after he announced his retirement as a player.

Considered one of the best players, if not the greatest, in franchise history, Walker contributed tons to Charlotte. Now, he has the opportunity to continue making an impact on the squad and the community as the Hornets' player enhancement coach.

The team posted a roll call of their assistant coaches on X earlier this week, showing Walker in a Hornets drip. Hopefully, with his guidance, the team's young players can fully develop into their potential and help the franchise turn things around.
