Brandon Miller is far from a finished product. While he has already shown impressive offensive abilities, his potential is through the ceiling. Even so, he has plenty of work to do to enhance his skills and deepen his bag. Perhaps watching film of Jalen Williams of the Oklahoma City Thunder could give him ideas on what to train on in the following months.

Williams has been a revelation for the Thunder, emerging as a rising star last year before finally becoming the perfect sidekick to Shai Gilgeous-Alexander. The forward's impact on the team has been impeccable, helping OKC reach the Western Conference Finals, where it holds a 3-1 lead over the Minnesota Timberwolves.

Interestingly, he is considered a Robin today only because he is playing alongside the reigning MVP. If he suited up for a different squad, he could very well be the No. 1 option.

What if the Hornets had drafted him in 2022? He certainly could have been a great fit alongside LaMelo Ball because of his do-it-all approach and humble demeanor. Unfortunately, he was chosen one pick before they were on the clock.

Hornets could have their own J-Dub and more

The silver lining is that Charlotte might be able to develop its own Jalen Williams if Miller is willing to mimic some of his game and incorporate them into his own. Of course, the 22-year-old is a different breed and can even turn out to be superior. But for now, the All-Star is undoubtedly better.

On offense, J-Dub can light it up from anywhere efficiently and has proven to be effective as a secondary shot-creator. His playmaking has also improved consistently, allowing him to keep defenders on their heels whenever he has the ball. As for B-Mill, he has yet to display elite handles.

Defensively is where Miller should look to emulate Williams, whose versatility guarding on-ball and off-ball thrust him into his maiden appearance on an All-Defensive team this season. He secured a spot on the second team, although he probably deserves consideration to be on the first team.

The Hornets youngster has yet to show that he can be on the same level on that end of the floor. However, he has the length and athleticism to be a game-changer on defense someday. He just has to be intentional about his development and seek ways to hone his defensive IQ.

It shouldn't be too hard for Miller to look up to Williams. After all, his favorite player is Paul George, an elite two-way force in his heyday. Hopefully, the two-year pro can arrive at that level in the near future.
