5. Dwayne Bacon

22-years old

Bacon was a bit overlooked coming out of college as the Hornets’ second-round pick in 2017 but a strong summer league performance turned heads. He appeared in 53 games for Charlotte during his rookie season and made six total starts which was an impressive feat. Although Dwayne only averaged 3.3 points per game and 2.3 rebounds per game, he looked like a solid role player.

The only reason Bacon comes in at No. 5 on this list, is because of his age. Because he played two years at Florida State, he is already 22-years old entering his second NBA season. While it is a good thing that he is more polished, developed and more of a finished product than other prospects, it also means that his potential is a bit more limited as he is close to reaching his ceiling.

Still, Dwayne looks to be a solid NBA swingman and a reliable role player going forward. Whether it be with the Hornets or another team, Bacon should be in the league for a long time because of his athleticism and ability to score off of the bench. He is also improving as a three-point shooter which could lead to him being a 3-and-D specialist off of the bench in the near future.
